First coffee table

Hi everyone,

I'm more of a turner than a coffee table builder (and it shows) but I was inspired to build this one for a friend who lost everything in the floods last year in Queensland. I thought a nice piece of replacement furniture would be a good gift for them.

Wood is cypress, finished with danish oil.

I learned a lot doing this project and am much better prepared to make my own one this year.

I like it. This reminds me of the Kidman Caravan Park at Bourke where they have extensively used Cyprus in their cabins. We don't see much of this down in South Oz; it is probably kept up there with the water that they also don't send down!!!
